Howdy again folks. I am saftly back in Pittsburgh. Outstanding trip. 3000 miles with 4 riding days. The Gator 1000 was probably the most fun day I have EVER had on a bike. WAAAAY to much fun. I cant wait to do another IBA 24hour ralley event!
The day started off Rainy. Well probably for the first 400 miles or so. Our rider meeting was at 5:40 in the AM and departure time started at 5:50. I got on the road by 6.
All the riders where given a sheet with waypoints prior to the start of the Ralley. Our job was to ride to the desinated points and take a picture. Every rider was given a flag with there rider number. The number MUST be visible in every picture to count. If somebody was present you where able to hold it. If not you needed to find a way to keep it visible. Some of the veteran IBA members told me to find some sort of clips to fasten the ralley flag to the picture spot or bike so I picked some up at LOWES.
Yours Truly at the Start. Plenty of Goldwings, a few Harleys, a handful of BMW's. Quite an assortment of bikes.
This was stop 1. Its amazing how well GPS units work. With a pack of 100 entries, 67 finished. It was amazing how big Florida is. Most the day I was alone. Everystop I ran into other riders though.
