Hey Folks.! Currently I am in Jacksonville Florida. I left Pennsylvania yesterday. My first leg was to Fayetteville North Carolinia where I met another rider. Today was from Fayetteville to Jacksonville. I arrived here about 2:30 this afternoon.

    Stay tuned.

Howdy again folks. I am saftly back in Pittsburgh. Outstanding trip. 3000 miles with 4 riding days. The Gator 1000 was probably the most fun day I have EVER had on a bike. WAAAAY to much fun. I cant wait to do another IBA 24hour ralley event!

The day started off Rainy. Well probably for the first 400 miles or so. Our rider meeting was at 5:40 in the AM and departure time started at 5:50. I got on the road by 6.

All the riders where given a sheet with waypoints prior to the start of the Ralley. Our job was to ride to the desinated points and take a picture. Every rider was given a flag with there rider number. The number MUST be visible in every picture to count. If somebody was present you where able to hold it. If not you needed to find a way to keep it visible. Some of the veteran IBA members told me to find some sort of clips to fasten the ralley flag to the picture spot or bike so I picked some up at LOWES.

Yours Truly at the Start. Plenty of Goldwings, a few Harleys, a handful of BMW's. Quite an assortment of bikes.

This was stop 1. Its amazing how well GPS units work. With a pack of 100 entries, 67 finished. It was amazing how big Florida is. Most the day I was alone. Everystop I ran into other riders though.

This was the final picture of the day.

This was said to be one of the harder 24hour ralleys. Lots of two lane rural backroads. I really was impressed by the beauty of inner Florida in the remote areas. I grew up going to Miami twice a year because both of my parents grew up there. The rest of the state was nothing like I remembered!

I finished my ride at 1:40 a.m. I was on the bike for about 19 hours and 40 minutes. I was really surprised how nice and friendly the long distance comunity is. I cant wait to do my next 24hour ralley. There are a few coming up a bit more local.

I left Jacksonville Saturday morning around 6 a.m. I arrived in Pittsburgh Saturday night at 9:00. I stopped for fuel four times, ate twice and stopped at two rest areas. I just love riding my 1100!

Congratulations on the IBA ride Greg.

Did you not do another IBA type run a couple of years ago?
